This program includes 3 levels: Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced
Any given level may take up to one year to master. Placement is determined by age and ability. Your child will be developing strength, flexibility, physical endurance, skill and form. As they move to a higher level they will be required to obtain a certain level of core and upper body strength. This development will increase their potential for mastering basic gymnastics skills and improve their fitness overall. It is very important that students master the basic form for skills to help with obtaining the next level and reduce injury.
What is form? It’s the alignment of the entire body during a skill.
Beginner Tumbling class will focus on the development of basic tumbling skills such as back walkovers, handstands and cartwheels. Major skills needed to advance to Intermediate are: Bridge kick over, Back walkover with a light spot and a cartwheel.
Gymnasts will continue to increase their strength, flexibility and conditioning. A strong emphasis is put on form. Students will begin to advance to round-offs, handstand front limbers and back handsprings. Major skills needed in order to be invited to Advanced Tumbling: Back handspring with a light spot.
Gymnasts continue to develop their body strength, conditioning and flexibility. They will begin to learn front handspring and back tucks.
